General Information

Kents oldest Market Town. Faversham is a historic market town with a traditional street market on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday in the centre of the town.

The market varies during the three days with a variety of stalls offering household essentials, clothes, trinkets, fresh plants and flowers, fruit and vegetables, with many local food producers in evidence particularly on Saturdays.

Faversham Charter Market is held around the Guildhall in the Market Place (ME13 7AG) and along Court Street (ME13 7AL). The market is held every Tuesday, Friday and Saturday and is open for trading between 9am & 3pm on Tuesday and between 9am & 4pm on Friday & Saturday. We also have two monthly markets – Best of Faversham Arts, Crafts and Food Market on the first and third Saturday of the month in Preston Street and Faversham Antiques and Vintage Market is held in the Market Place and Court Street on the first Sunday of every month, except September.

For an additional fee we can also supply a canopy and table plus a limited number of pitch positions have electricity available .

Set up times vary depending on the market requested. You should be set up and ready to trade with your vehicle removed from site by the opening.

All traders are required to have Public Liability Insurance cover to the value of 2 Million GBP. If you are selling food this cover needs to be 5 Million GBP. This is easily available for around £55 per year, if you want to try out market trading we can offer one days insurance cover for £10. If you are selling food you must have a "Level 2 Food Safety & Hygiene Certificate" this covers retail sales – Please note, this is not your Food Standards Agency Food Hygiene Rating. If you are processing food you must advise us of the authority where your food business is registered and display your Food Standards Agency, Food Hygiene Rating.

The market is closed to traffic on Friday and Saturday between 10am & 4pm.

General Information

Canterbury market is held outdoors every Wednesday and Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm at St Georges Street Canterbury CT1 2SR. Wednesday and Friday are both good trading days with up to 20 stalls in the centre of town.

Trader Information

Types of stalls are a mix of Operator provided or Trader owned and erected, permanent trader rent is from £45 for a 3 x 3 Metre Pitch, for casual traders please contact the Markets Office here

There is currently a service charge applied, refuse collection is available on site and Vehicle access is allowed prior to the market opening. electricity is available at £1.50 per day and if the Trader does not have their own Gazebo these are available for hire from £11.00 per day.
