There are a number of clubs offering outdoor sporting opportunities and details of which may be found under "Community - Directory". These include:

There are a number of separate football clubs based around the local area who cater for all age ranges as well as younger mixed teams, and ladies teams.

Faversham Town FC Faversham Strike Force FC, Dawes Hernhill Herons, Whitstable Town FC, Herne Bay FC, Canterbury Football Academy, and Canterbury City FC, to name but a few.

Founded in 1884, Faversham Town Football Club is a football club based in Faversham, Kent, England. Nicknamed the 'Lilywhites' due to their white strip, they are currently members of the Isthmian League South East Division and play at Salters Lane

Founded in 1999 by Club Manager Gary Axford, Faversham Strike Force FC has grown into one of the largest and well known Youth Football Clubs in Kent.

We are a FA Charter Standard Community Club and have FA qualified coaches with every team who provide their services free of charge every weekend at four separate venues in Faversham.

All of our coaches hold FA Coaching Badges and are First Aid and Safeguarding Children trained. All Club Officials have been criminal record checked, so you can be sure that your son or daughter is receiving the best possible support and care whilst they are with the club.

We currently cater for all age groups from reception school year through to seniors. Teams compete in the East Kent Youth League, Faversham and District Youth League, Kent Youth League, Herne Bay and Whitstable League and Kent County League and the South East Counties Womens League.

Faversham Strike Force Football Club will exist for the benefit of our members, supporters and local community.

Our aim is to make a positive contribution to the personal, social, physical, technical development and health of all players. By providing a safe, enjoyable, learning environment, individuals will be given the opportunity to express themselves whilst being challenged to maximise their potential.

In pursuit of this goal; we will help each player to be the best that they can be, and a collaborative effort will ensure we are 'one winning team'.

Dawes Hernhill Herons Football Club is an FA Charter Standard Club established in 1992. We pride ourselves on being a community-focused club, with an emphasis on fun and positive development in a safe and supportive environment.

We offer a wide range of training sessions for children of different ages and mixed abilities. Our teams have represented us in both the Faversham and District Youth Football League, and the East Kent Youth League. As a community club, we encourage and need the help of parents, guardians and local volunteers to support the club. Everyone is welcome and we are always looking for new players.

Our coaches are fully supported, and encouraged to gain their FA Coaching Qualifications, First Aid and Safeguarding courses. All Club Officials have successfully completed the DBS (formerly CRB) criminal records check.

Cricket

The Faversham Cricket Club is the closest club to the Dunkirk Parish, closely followed by the Canterbury Cricket Club. Both clubs maintain a good square and outfield. They also have nets for practice and storage facilities within the area. Both clubs also cater for all ages with coaches available, They have use of a Pavilion which has changing and shower facilities as well as a clubroom which boasts a bar. They have both been very successful in the local leagues and have won numerous trophies.

Canterbury also is the host city to the Kent County Cricket Club, based at the St Lawrence Ground on Old Dover Road in the city, it boasts excellent facilities as well as an indoor net school. The club has hosted various International Matches in the one day format and also 20 20 matches.

Bowls

Outdoor bowls are played in the local area in the village of Boughton-Under-Blean, although outside of the Dunkirk Parish, some members playing at the club are drawn from Dunkirk. It is also open to members of the general public. Please see this page for more information
